The three strangers - Thomas Hardy

In the south-west of England there are many long, low, grassy hills. Farmers still keep their sheep on them. The night of March 28th 1825, was one of the coldest and wettest that winter. Shepherd with his wife were living in a cottage and having the party with their family and their friends. There was a new baby in the family.

Suddenly came in a strange man. He took the seat in the chimney corner. The shepherd Fennel was talking with him. During their conversation came a second stranger. He looked rich, so the shepherd asked him, what his job is. He said nothing and started to sing. Everybody found out that he was singing about his job. He was a hangman. He has to hang the thief, who has stolen a sheep. Then arrived a third stranger, when he has heard the song about the hangman he ran away.

Everybody in the cottage thought that the man is the thief. But when the police have caught him, they discovered that he is innocent. The thief was the first strange man, but when the police with the people from the party were searching the thief he has escaped and anybody has never seen him.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Slumdog Millionaire is the story of Jamal Malik (Patel), an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on Indias "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"

But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika (Pinto), the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show¹s questions.

Each chapter of Jamal increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the shows seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show?

When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out.

From my point of view the performance of three children is just excellent. I believe that is a performance without commentaries, simply awesome, they are so natural that they seem to be professional. Really raw but this movie reflects a daily reality not only in India but in others countries as well but in some cases is worse.
